How Does it Work?

FAQ:

What is CommanderLands?

Commanderlands is a Magic: The Gathering tool for building Commander manabases using the best possible lands.
It's meant to save time by creating a general, but still curated, list of lands for the user.

How does CommanderLands work?

Commanderlands works by taking a user's deck information as an input, and then through a complex algorithm, curates a manabase based on a few factors.
It uses your pip counts to make a set of ratios based on how much of each color your deck needs. Then, it accesses a database of lands with individual
power rankings to figure out what the best lands are, and adds lands to the list based on these factors.

Why doesn't the algorithm give X land?

If you're not seeing a particular land that you're expecting, it could be for a variety of factors including price, power level, and your colors.
Some cards that were deemed too weak, like the guildgates, aren't in the database and won't appear. This falls into the "Let the user customize their decklist" aspect of the generator.
